The Beauty and the Beast!

Greetings,
First of all, I am very happy to be back blogging again after a long break. I started my doll making again with this beautiful project from ‘Fairy tale knits’ by Fiona Goble.
The set includes four enchanting characters: Beauty, the Beast who turns into a handsome Prince, and the Sisters.

Beauty:
She is beautiful, kind hearted, intelligent. Like any girl she had a dream of falling in love with a handsome and a loving man. However, she ended up loving a Beast instead. A perfect example of a Stockholm syndrome!

The Beast:
The real beauty is on the inside, and it doesn’t matter what a person looks like from the outside. This Beast is ugly, but inside him there is a lovely person struggling to get out!

The Prince:
Because of Beauty’s kindness and love, the ugly monster turned into a loving handsome Prince! After all, love can move mountains!

The Sisters:
Sometimes, our siblings can be our own enemies and these two sisters of Beauty is no different. Their jealously and wickedness couldn’t stop Beauty from marrying the handsome loving Prince. Always, love, kindness and honesty wins over jealousy and wickedness!

All in all, I had a great time knitting these dolls and taking their pictures.

I will be back soon with my next doll and my next post.
Until then…

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Greetings,

I finally finished another fairy tale knits from Fiona Goble’s book. I started this a long time ago and in my busy schedule I wasn’t able to knit regularly. However, I am happy to have finished this.

Goldilocks:
With her tumbling golden hair and demure smile, she looks as pretty as a picture. She looks cute in her pale green and purple dress however, she has actually forgotten her manners. When she went walking in the woods near her home, she started to feel a little peckish. So why not just slip into that charming little house and help herself to some breakfast? No one will care, will they?

Father Bear:
He is the head of the three bears household. He has the biggest bed, the biggest chair, and of course, the biggest bowl of oatmeal. In his red shirt and green pants with suspenders, he’s a traditional type of bear. But his stern expression and burly build give you a hint that you would be wise not to get on his bad side.

Mother Bear:
She is a gentle-natured creature who puts her family at the heart of everything she does. Dressed sensibly in a comfortable skirt and cardigan, she gets along with everyone and doesn’t like to make a fuss. One of her favourite occupations is cooking good, wholesome meals for her family- such as the oatmeal in this famous story.

Baby Bear:
Mother Bear wouldn’t want to know this, but her little son is spoiled rotten. Although he looks adorable in his cute blue overalls, he is prone to more than the odd tantrum when things don’t go his way. He’s not prepared to share his toys, his chair, or his food with anyone- even a girl as pretty as Goldilocks.

I had so much fun making these enchanting characters!

Until next...
