Greetings,
I finally finished, designing the characters I was planning. They are inspired by Beatrix Potter's ' Tales of Peter Rabbit & his friends'.
Beatrix Potter was born in London in 1866, and grew up in a wealthy and rigid household. Educated at home by a governess, she led a sheltered and restricted life, her only playmate her brother Bretram. It was on the family's annual holidays in Scotland that Beatrix and Bretram had their happiest times. They escaped into the woods, and immersed themselves in the joys of farm life, collecting plants, animals, insects, and unknown to their parents, bringing home dead animals to sketch.
Her spirited animals and exquisite drawings never fail to delight both children and adults.
Once upon a time there were four little rabbits Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail and Peter. They lived with their mother in a little cottage under a very big fir tree.
Old Mrs. Rabbit was a widow; she earned her living by knitting rabbit wool mittens and muffatees. She also sold herbs, rosemary tea and rabbit- tobacco ( which is what we call lavender).
Peter's father had an accident in Mr. McGregor's garden. He was put in a pie by Mrs. McGregor.
Presently Peter sneezed - " Kertyschoo!" Mr .McGregor was after him in no time, & tried to put his foot upon Peter who jumped out of a window upsetting some plants. The window was too small for Mr. McGregor, & he was tired of running after Peter. He went back to his work.
Peter sat down to rest; he was out of breath and trembling with fright, & also he was very damp sitting in that bucket.
He had not the least idea which way to go. He wandered all around going lippity- lippity - not very fast, and finally found the way home.
After Mrs. Rabbit tucked every one in bed she sat with her sewing basket and some yarn to make a new jacket for Peter. Of course! She cannot do with out her glasses.
Mothers! Will they ever find some spare time?
I hope you all enjoyed this wonderful story.
I had lot if fun designing these dolls, and creating the background. The trees are made out of Pom-poms and kitchen towel rolls. I also made a pair of little glasses for old Mrs. Rabbit.
Enjoy!
