Miss. Robin

Greetings friends!

This is the Last doll of this project, and this completes the entire set that I was planning.
As I had mentioned in my last two blogs I am going to reveal where, and how I was inspired to make these three dolls. Before I proceed meet Miss.Robin.

Few days ago I decided that I should try designing  some dolls, but was not sure how to begin. When I was giving a thought about this it occurred to me that I should go to the library and find some storybooks from the children's section. I know many designers get their inspiration from story books and fairy tales. So I followed the same procedure as well.

When I was browsing through the books I found this book from Mabel Lucie Attwell. Unfortunately this book in written in Spanish could not understand a thing, there were no English version in this particular library. I still borrowed the book since I liked all the illustrations and got inspired. I have heard about the author before but this is the first time I got to look at her book.
  • (Mabel Lucie Attwell was a British illustrator. She was known for her cute, nostalgic drawings of children, based on her daughter, Peggy. Her drawings are featured on many postcards, advertisements, posters, books and figurines.Wikipedia)

  • Among all the illustrations in the book, this one is my favorite, so decided to make three dolls a boy and two girls and make them pose and take a picture just like how it's in the book.

Look at these little rascals how they are whooping and guffawing about something. How I miss those childhood days.

I am happy the way it has turned out and this project has inspired me to design some more dolls.

I am already hatching a plan about my next project which is also inspired by another storybook which I will be revealing once the dolls are complete.

    Till then
    You stay classy craft world!
